Meditation

  • In the East, meditation is not seen primarily as something mystical. It is valued as a proven and practical aid to calming the mind and the body, in order to improve the functions of both.
  • Meditation can include breathing exercises, mental imaging, focusing the attention on particular areas of the body, or simply practicing calming and clearing the mind which is proven to be the most nourishing and beneficial to the body.
  • All of these forms are commonly used as a part of daily life by many people in the East as a part of normal health maintenance. In this way – as another aspect of the general system of Oriental Medicine and Health Care – meditation complements acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in a direct and practical way.
